Why Volunteer?
Every repair is a small act of rebellion against throwaway culture. When you volunteer at Repair Café, you're not just fixing a toaster — you're teaching someone that things can be saved, that knowledge should be shared, and that communities are stronger when we help each other.
A good reason to come is that it is FUN to be with others who like to fix things together!
Skills We Need
Sharpening
Sharpening knives, garden tools, scissors, and blades
Small Appliances
Diagnosis and repair for fans, toasters, blenders, lamps, other small household appliances
Electronics
Diagnose and repair clocks, radios, CD players, speakers — note: we cannot repair computers, phones, tablets, or printers
Bikes
Bicycle tune-ups, tire repair, brake adjustments, and chain work
Sewing & Textiles
Textile repair, seam stitching, patching
Jewelry
Clasp repairs
Mechanical
Small engine and electrical diagnoses, weed-eaters, vacuums
Furniture
Repair loose components, drawer slides, wood repair, and structural fixes
Our Fixers love a challenge — if you can carry it in, we'll do our best to fix it.
If we can't fix it, we'll give guidance on where to go or what to get.
